Class 19 Open Equitation Horses to be 4 years and over. There will be a simple set format for an individual show – see Class 19 Open Equitation Rules below. Marks will be given for each section and will be judged on manners, way of going and general overall impression. There will be no jumps.

The class will be judged for accuracy of the test, manners, attitude and general outlook of the horse.
If your horse is unhappy with any element of the test just move on to the next part. A nice flowing round will gain points.
Stabling
There is a limited number of elite indoor stables for hire for the duration of the Show available from Saturday evening until Sunday evening at a cost of £100 per box which includes a £20 returnable deposit for leaving the box empty and clean on departure.
Bedding is restricted to shavings only which can be pre-ordered at a cost of £12 per bale or you can bring your own. These elite boxes will be allocated on a first come basis on receipt of the appropriate payment.
Temporary stables can also be hired for the duration of the Show available from Saturday evening until Sunday evening at a cost of £80 per box which includes a £20 returnable deposit for leaving the box empty and clean on departure.

Rules and conditions of entry
- The onus of a horse being exhibited in a class is on the owner/exhibitor. A Judge must not judge a horse which he/she has bred, owned, sold or had any financial interest in at any time. (Service fees for stallions and keep for mares at stud are excluded).
- The Judge’s decision is final. Any objections must be made in writing to the Show Secretary within 30 minutes of the class ending with a £50 cash deposit which will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld.
- The organisers reserve the right to rearrange times, amalgamate, alter or cancel any class and adjust prize money accordingly. The organisers reserve the sole right to interpret regulations, conditions and to finally settle and determine all matters, questions and differences arising from show policy.
- All horses entered must be registered with either Horse Sport Ireland or the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) and in possession of a valid passport. It is mandatory that all exhibitors travel with their horse’s passport and that the flu vaccinations are up to date. Random checks will be made at the Show. In order for any horse to compete it must have had the primary course of flu vaccinations consisting of two injections given no less than 21 days and no more than 60 days apart. The final booster is given between 120 and 180 days after the primary course and annually thereafter months. Foals do not require vaccinations prior to weaning.
- All ridden exhibits must be 4 years or over, and at least 153cm (15hh).
- All riders and handlers must be 16 years or over (18 years for stallions and colts).
- Stallions must be ridden or handled by an experienced rider of 18 years or over, and must have a red, white and blue ribbon in their tail and white disc on their bridle.
- All In Hand colts – yearlings, two and three year olds must be bitted and shown by an experienced handler 18 years or over, and must have a red, white and blue ribbon in their tail and white disc on their bridle.
- Tack. Bitless bridles, running gags, Market Harborough’s, side, draw or running reins are NOT permitted. Boots are not permitted in any flat ridden class.
- Health and Safety. The organisers accept no responsibility for accidents to spectators, competitors, animals or their property, in connection with and arising from the show. Admission is granted and entries accepted only on recognition of this condition. The organisers accept no responsibility for any injury arising from any failure to comply with show rules.
- It is the sole responsibility of all riders to ensure that, whilst on horseback they wear appropriate clothing and footwear and a correctly fitted riding hat/skull cap with an integral adjustable harness complying with the minimum current European standards. These hats are compulsory for competitors aged 18 years and under.
- Should any horse be regarded by judges or stewards to compromise the safety of other competitors or spectators they will be asked to leave the ring.
- In all ridden classes a fall of horse or rider will lead to elimination from the class.
- Children and Dogs. Parents/Carers of children and young people under the age of 16 are responsible for their supervision at all times while attending the show. Dogs are welcome but MUST be kept on a short lead at all times. No flexi or extending leads allowed.
- Exhibitors failing to participate in a Championship for which they have qualified will forfeit their prize money.
- It is a condition of entry that all owners/exhibitors MUST have Third Party Public Liability Insurance
for their horses to compete. Signature acceptance to be confirmed on entry form.

Health, Safety and Welfare: The organisers of the event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. Should a health/safety concern be noticed please report it without delay to the Secretary’s office.
