Welcome to the Irish Draught Open Show - a new exciting and innovative horse show for ALL Irish Draught horses and Irish Draught enthusiasts.
Run independently from the IDHS (GB) the show is open to both members of the Society and non-members – at no extra cost – and most importantly open to ALL Irish Draught horses.
All the pure bred Irish Draught classes both In Hand and Ridden are open to the progeny of sires and dams that are either graded, or ungraded.
In order to authenticate entries it is a condition that all Irish Draught and Irish Draught Sport Horses competing must be registered in the studbooks of either Horse Sport Ireland or the IDHS (GB).
The aim of the show is to provide an opportunity for all those enthusiasts that have been unable to show their pure bred Irish Draughts in classes affiliated to the IDHS (GB), and to compete on equal terms with progeny out of graded sires and dams. This is your chance – please support this show or lose it.
The Irish Draught Open Show is a company limited by guarantee and any profits will be used to benefit Irish Draught enthusiasts.
We have a fabulous central venue, some willing helpers and stewards, and great knowledgeable judges.
